Daily Scrum or Daily Stand-up is a Scrum event where everyday at the same time the team members gather for a 15 minute time-boxed meeting to briefly describe the following questions:
- What did you do yesterday?
- What will you do today?
- Are there any impediments?
It enables transparency of what was done and enables the team members to quickly address any issue that may arise during the sprint.
It promotes collaboration by knowing what others have done and what they are going to work on for the day.
Daily Scrum is not is not a status report where each employee have to report the progress of his/her work.
What is a Scrum Event?
Scrum Event is a time-boxed event or a meeting, it may end earlier that the defined time limit but the limit is always fixed. The Scrum Master facilitates this events and reminds the team to keep it within the time-box.
